Job Summary

The Production Coordinator is responsible for setting, managing and updating quality processes and standards throughout the production process. He/She provides general oversight to the Production Officer for raw Material to ensure that raw material suppliers adhere to the SoPs established. He/She liaises with contract manufacturers to ensure specifications for production are being carried out and integrity of the applicable quality management systems is maintained.

Main Responsibilities

  • Schedules and coordinates flow of work within the departments to expedite production.

  • Reviews master production schedule and work orders, establishes priorities and revises schedule according to work order specifications and established priorities.

  • Determine such temperature and processing conditions; & specifying a proposed completion date for units to be produced.

  • Provides oversight to the maintenance of inventory of raw materials needed to complete production.

  • Establishes and sustains rapport with key subcontractors and manufacturers, making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.

  • Maintains price points tracker along the supply chain in Support the work of the Operations Manager.

  • Proposes, and upon approval, implements appropriate Quality Control and Quality Assurance programmes for every step of the production process (new and current).

  • Routinely measure/reviews quality control systems and quality assurance programs and make adjustments accordingly.

  • Ensures all technical requirements and specifications such as scientific details, claims, DV and usage instructions are accurate and in alignment with approved specification sheet.

  • Produce detailed reports, meeting notes, and notifications.

Required Competencies

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Good analytical and organizational skills

  • Strong attention to details 

  • Training in Quality Systems - ISO, HACCP

  • Ability to manipulate Microsoft suite and proficiency with MS Excel

Minimum Required Education and Experience

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Production or a related field.

  • At least two (2) years' experience in a manufacturing/production environment with pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification in project management

  • Training in production
